Stephen L. Estes Endowed Scholarship for Swimming

Stephen Estes Sun Devil ASU Swimming

The family of late Sun Devil swimmer and Arizona State University graduate Stephen Estes, in conjunction with Sun Devil Athletics and the ASU Foundation, has established the Stephen L. Estes Endowed Scholarship for Swimming in remembrance of Stephen and his lifelong passions that enriched the lives of all who knew him.

Stephen, who graduated from ASU's Barrett, The Honors College with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, died tragically in a helicopter crash on April 16, 2019. He was a member of the Sun Devil Swimming program from 2009-2013, earned First Team Pac-10 All-Academic honors and placed in the top 16 at Pac-10 Championships in the 100m breast, and competed in National and Olympic trials.

Stephen’s unmatched determination to experience life to its fullest will live on forever through the Stephen L. Estes Endowed Scholarship for Swimming, which is to benefit a swimming student-athlete in aerospace engineering, or engineering, or pursuing a degree through Barrett, The Honors College.
