Sun Devil Athletics Debuts New Bro & Blegen Agility Field

TEMPE, Ariz. – On Monday, Feb. 25, Sun Devil Athletics unveiled the new Bro & Blegen Agility Field outside Sun Devil Football's state-of-the-art Student-Athlete Facility on the north side of Sun Devil Stadium.

Through generous donations led by Betsy & Kent Bro and Mary & Jay Blegen, as well as Linda and Bart Wear, the new artificial turf field, which measures 53 yards wide by 35 yards long, provides an efficient solution for the football team to perform walk throughs and agility training throughout the year.

"Our goal is to provide our student-athletes with the top facilities and experiences possible," said Gabe Cagwin, Sun Devil Athletics' Chief Business Development Officer. "This agility field was important to Ray Anderson and head coach Herm Edwards, and we're extremely fortunate to have passionate supporters like the Bro, Blegen and Wear families to help make this vision a reality."

Just steps outside the program's state-of-the-art weight room, the privately funded field allows student-athletes the opportunity to utilize it throughout the entire year and enables them to use their time more effectively.

"I am so proud to be associated with Sun Devil football and I believe we need to provide our
student-athletes with the best tools to excel academically and on the field," said Kent Bro, a graduate of the W.P. Carey School of Business. "The Bro & Blegen Agility Field is another step in making sure these student-athletes have the best facilities in the Pac-12."

"ASU and its athletic programs have given Mary and I so much to look forward to year after year," said Jay Blegen, also a graduate of the W.P. Carey School of Business. "It is our honor and pleasure to give back to our university and the student-athletes. The Bro & Blegen Agility Field is a special way for us to say thank you."

The addition of the agility field is another enhancement for the Sun Devil football program and their facilities after the Student-Athlete Facility was completed in summer 2017 and the third phase of the Sun Devil Stadium reinvention came together in summer 2018.
