To support the rich tradition of women’s collegiate athletics at Arizona State University. Wings of Gold acts as an advocate and support system for all 14 Sun Devil women's athletics programs..

The Wings of Gold Fund acts as an annual fund for the 14 women’s athletics programs at Arizona State University. The unrestricted dollars raised through the Wings of Gold Fund will be evenly distributed between the 14 programs and will be used for recruiting, academic, and other essential needs necessary to compete at the highest level.

Arizona State University’s rich tradition in women’s athletics can be traced back to 1899, with the creation of a women’s basketball team. Over the past century, ASU has helped to pioneer women’s collegiate athletics and currently hosts 14 Sun Devil women’s programs.

Thanks to your loyal support, Sun Devil Women’s Athletics has brought 32 National Championships back to Tempe, including 18 Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women/Division for Girls’ and Women’s Sports team national championships and 15 National Championships since 1990. Just as important, you have helped foster the success, both academically and athletically, of our extraordinary female student-athletes. You have given them Wings of Gold.

This success is measured not only on the athletic field, but also in the classroom and on graduation day. You will be proud to know our average cumulative GPA for female student-athletes is 3.39, and at the close of the 2016-2017 academic year, all women’s athletic teams earned a 3.0 or higher GPA, with seven programs tallying a seemester GPA above 3.5. This success can be traced to our athletes’ hard work in the classroom, along with the award-winning academic support services you provide through your gifts.

A long lineage of Sun Devil Hockey alumni laid the foundation during its years as a non-financed, club program for what has evolved into the new and trendiest college hockey destination. One of those instrumental players was Mark Parris.

Arizona’s own Sun Devil Family Charities and the Sun Devil Club have been enhancing the student-athlete experience and spearheading philanthropic endeavors for years by raising resources for athletic scholarships and endowments with little fanfare, but plenty of heart.
